Shamita Shetty made her debut as an actress in the blockbuster and multi-starrer YRF film MOHABBATEIN in 2000 directed by Aditya Chopra. She earned many award nominations in that year. In 2001, she won the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Female. She also made guest appearances in YRF films with the hit songs ‘Sharara Sharara’ from MERE YAAR KI SHAADI HAI (2001) and ‘Chori Pe Chori’ in SAATHIYA (2002).
