Maneesh Sharma, now a prolific director-producer began his career in the Hindi cinema as an assistant director for the film FANAA (2006) and an associate director for films like AAJA NACHLE (2007) & RAB NE BANA DI JODI (2008). In the year 2010, he made his writing and directorial debut under the YRF banner with the film BAND BAAJA BAARAAT for which he won the Best Debut Director award at several award shows. Later, he also directed other films like LADIES VS RICKY BAHL (2011), SHUDDH DESI ROMANCE (2013) and Shah Rukh Khan starrer FAN (2016) the story idea of which was also his. He also turned a producer under the YRF banner for DUM LAGA KE HAISHA (2015), MERI PYAARI BINDU (2017), HICHKI (2018), SUI DHAAGA – MADE IN INDIA (2018) and JAYESHBHAI JORDAAR (2021). DUM LAGA KE HAISHA didn’t just receive critical acclaim but also won the National Award for Best Feature Film in the Hindi language.
