Karan Johar, now a renowned and successful filmmaker, made his debut in Hindi Cinema as a supporting actor in Aditya Chopra’s historic directorial debut DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE (1995). In the film, he played the role of Raj’s (Shah Rukh Khan) friend, Paunchy. He was also one of the assistant directors on the film.
