Y-Films becomes the first Bollywood studio to make fun of its own movie before anyone everyone else does
#ImaandaarPressRelease
Two days ago, Y-Films launched the trailer of Bank Chor to no fanfare whatsoever. Barring Riteish Deshmukh and 2-3 of his Twitter friends, no one was excited about another film starring him in the lead. There was also no press conference or event because clearly, the makers of this “comedy” have no money left (#haisiyat). So in a desperate bid to grab attention, Y-Films has come up with the dumbest marketing idea ever thought of within the whole of Andheri: An Imaandaar trailer.
A logic-defying, sense-defying and completely unnecessary idea that will almost certainly backfire and ruin any chance Y-Films had of getting people to a theater, the Imaandaar trailer reveals everything about the movie that most studios NEVER do... imaandaari se. It seems that the makers are fully aware that by casting the likes of Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Anand Oberoi, Rhea Chakraborty and Baba Sehgal (LOL) and getting someone actually called ‘Bumpy’ to direct the film, they have anyway shot themselves in the foot. So why not shoot themselves in the Tashreef too?
So please go ahead and watch Imaandaar trailer of Bank Chor, otherwise there is a 100% chance that Y-Films will come up with even worse ideas. And please share the trailer to stop them from doing dumber things! Y-Films ki izzat is now in *your* hands!
Says Riteish Deshmukh, “I’ve clearly made the biggest mistake of my life by agreeing to work on Bank Chor. I deeply regret it and apologise to all my 2-3 Twitter friends and any fans that still exist after my last few films.”
Adds Vivek Anand Oberoi, “How dare they call me ‘Gareebon ka Singham’? The shades I used were from my own collection and cost me Rs 343 + taxes!”
Finally, producer Ashish Patil says, “WE ARE SO FUNNY LULZ.”
Self-confessedly India’s STUPIDEST comic thriller, Bank Chor, directed by Bumpy and produced by Ashish Patil, is all set to embarrass its makers when it releases in theaters on June 16. The trailer of the film is already out on YouTube.com/YFilm. Please watch it. Pretty please!
