YRF: Number 1 in the Filmfare Power List – third year in a row!

The big verdict is out – Yash Chopra and Aditya Chopra have again been selected as the most powerful people in the Indian Entertainment business – third consecutive year in a row. Choosing the most powerful person cannot be easy, but as Filmfare magazine came out with their Power List, Yash Raj Films is at the top yet again. 

Taking a page out of America's Premiere magazine, widely considered the last word in Hollywood reporting, Filmfare has for the third year in a row, put together an annual industry Power List that select only the most powerful and influential individuals in the Indian film industry.

When the industry bigwigs were asked who they felt deserved to be at the top spot this year, their replies were unanimous in selecting the Chopra’s. Yash Raj Films continues to dominate the overall Number 1 slot for the third year running.

The award was handed over at the 53rd Filmfare Awards ceremony for the year 2007, held on 23rd February 2008 at YRF Studios in Mumbai. On winning the award, the veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra said, “We are powerless without the love of the audience and the industry.”

The Filmfare Power 2007 survey was conducted by AC Nielsen-ORG MARG, the largest market research and information company in South Asia. According to Filmfare, the criterion that decides the winners include factors like their box-office draw, their ability to generate funds for others, and their ability to call the shots no matter what.
