Viewers vote film the best of the year in year end CNN-IBN Poll
Yash Raj Films’ blockbuster “Chak De India” has ended the year on a new high. The critical and commercial success of the movie was underscored yet again by the Indian public when they voted it the “Best movie of the year” in the year end poll conducted by CNN-IBN.
Given the number of quality films that were produced by the Indian film industry this year, it was an emphatic statement of the love that was showered on the movie by cinema lovers this year. Commented Yash Chopra, Chairman, Yash Raj Films, “Chak De India was made with love and passion and the people of India responded to it with an equal love and passion. We are glad to have made a movie that touched the emotional and patriotic nerve of so many Indians, and gratefully accept this honour that the viewing public has bestowed upon Chak De India at the end of the year”.
The award was received by Yash Chopra along with the director of the movie, Shimit Amin, as well as the script writer, Jaideep Sahni.
