Jhoom Barabar JhoomIt’s here! One of the most awaited musical blockbusters of the year has announced its arrival with the launch of its music on May 15. And what foot tapping, blood racing, life infusing music it is. It needed something special to follow up the magic Shaad Ali Sahgal, Gulzar and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy had created with the music of “Bunty Aur Babli” and that something special is the music of “Jhoom Barabar Jhoom”.

The stunningly attractive star cast of Abhishek Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Bobby Deol and Lara Dutta have been gifted a stunning collage of songs that will soon be on the lips of every music lover. The first song, “Jhoom”, which is the first title track, has been sung by Shankar Mahadevan himself and is guaranteed to immediately set you in the mood for the masti that the film promises to deliver in full measure. What makes it even more special is that this song has been picturised on Amitabh Bachchan in an extraordinary look.

“Ticket to Hollywood” features the unusual combination of Neeraj Shridhar and Alisha Chinai.

The track “JBJ” which is the second title track features Zubeen, Shankar Mahadevan and Sunidhi Chauhan – and is such a high-energy number that even the statues at Madam Tussaud’s would be forced to dance to it.

Following “JBJ” is a treat for fans of the mellifluous voice of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in the romantic number “Bol Na Halke Halke” in which he combines with the sensuous jazzy sounds of Mahalaxmi Iyer. “Kiss of Love” follows, and is presented in the western influenced voices of Vishal Dadlani and Vasundhara Das.

Then it’s time for the final title track “Jhoom Barabar Jhoom” featuring the combined talents of KK, Sukhvinder Singh, Mahalaxmi Iyer & Shankar Mahadevan. A worthy title track for such a keenly anticipated film, the track showcases just how well four great voices can combine to such magical effect. The album concludes with the instrumental “Jhoom Jam”.

As with all YRF releases, the interests of film lovers is kept top of mind. This time therefore, the music is being released simultaneously in Music Cassette, Audio CD, MP3 formats and the DVD-Audio format giving all consumers the opportunity to listen to the music at the same time irrespective of how discerning they are in their choice of audio quality.

The music of “Jhoom Barabar Jhoom” is also available for download in a digital format (as a single song or entire album) through the Yash Raj Films Website and also on popular sites like iTunes among others. YRF also delivers physical products to homes through orders placed online through the Website www.yashrajfilms.com.

For those asking the question “How can one possibly top the magic of Kajra Re?” there is a simple three word answer: Jhoom Barabar Jhoom!
