Yash Chopra was conferred with the
“Marketing King Award 2006” on the occasion of 37th anniversary conference of the Institute of Marketing Management (IMM) held at The Grand Hotel, New Delhi on 14th August 2006. This Award was conferred to Yash Chopra in recognition of his exemplary and trail-blazing work in marketing his films, both within India and abroad.
On this occasion, the guests were treated to a special film compiled for this event covering glimpses of Yash Chopra’s films and interesting moments while he was on the sets directing various stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and other young actors. As veterans and super stars like Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Lata Mangeshkar also spoke about him, the audience watched in awe. This was the most interesting part of the evening as the life and oeuvres unfolded on two screens in the huge hall.
Accepting the award, Yashji shared that the secret of his success is focus and honest hard work.
While talking to the press about the innumerable awards he has received Yash Chopra said, “It always feels great to receive recognition for your work. And of course it always feels great to receive awards”.
The IMM students asked Mr. Chopra about his formula for success, to which Mr. Chopra said, “There is no set formula of success. You should always have a goal set in your life and you should follow them in a very dedicated and sincere manner and success will surely be yours one day”.
