Yash Chopra is Indian Cinema’s “SUPERBRAND”

On Thursday 8th September, in a glittering ceremony featuring the “Who’s who” of the Indian Corporate Landscape, Mr. Yash Chopra was awarded the “Superbrand” Award by Superbrands International.
Superbrands is a worldwide organisation operating in 44 countries. It exists to promote the discipline of brand management and pay tribute to exceptional brands.
The Superbrand Award is considered to be the Oscars of Brand Management, and is the Global Benchmark of Brand Management.
Every year brands across 44 countries are invited to participate as Superbrands, following an uncompromising selection process. Brands are only invited if, in the opinion of the Superbrand council members, they have scored sufficiently to merit inclusion.
The council members represent the finest professional minds with a fine and proven track record of managing brands. The Consumer Superbrands project had as its members top notch professionals from research, marketing, media and advertising. The current project – Business Superbrands – has the country’s most outstanding business heads.
The felicitation of Mr. Yash Chopra and Yash Raj Films as “The Superbrand of Indian Cinema”, is an international acknowledgement of the work put in by Yash Raj Films to be recognized as a provider of excellent filmed entertainment, and its unerring commitment to providing Hindi cinema viewers with high quality entertainment.
On receiving the award, Mr. Chopra acknowledged the work put in by the entire Yash Raj Films Family towards attaining this singular accomplishment.
“Creating a Superbrand is not simply the work of one individual. Our success is because of the efforts of an entire team of people – the directors, technicians, actors and the employees that put their heart and soul into each of our films.”, Mr. Chopra said in his acceptance speech.
Mr. Yash Chopra is the First and Only member of the Indian Film Fraternity to be felicitated with this award.
