Yash Chopra Honoured At Punjabi Pravasi Divas 2006Yash Chopra was honoured with Outstanding Achievement Award at the Punjabi Pravasi Divas 2006, for his commendable contribution to the Film and Entertainment Industry and for bringing laurels to the land of his birth - Punjab. 

The Government of Punjab, Chandigarh Administration and IPCSI (International Punjabi Chamber for Service Industry) jointly organized the Punjabi Pravasi Divas and International Convention of Non-Resident Indians (NRI’s) & Indian Corporate. The theme of this convention held on 14th & 15th January 2006, at Hotel Mount View, Chandigarh, India was “Business Opportunities in the Service Industry & Infrastructure Development”. 

A galaxy of NRI’s from across the globe, dignitaries, ministers, distinguished guests, high ranking officials, renowned artists and other eminent personalities were present on the occasion. 

Along with Yash Chopra, the other eminent personalities who were honored with Outstanding Achievement Awards were Raj Babbar, Hans Raj Hans, Gurdas Mann, Harbhajan Mann, Mangal Dhillon and Sanotkh Singh Chawla. Film star Dharmendra was also honoured as the “Son of the Soil” Award. The other category of Lifetime Achievement Award saw sons of Ramanand Sagar and Anand Bakshi being honoured among others, including thespian Gursharan Singh, Sushil Ansal, Lord Daljit Rana, Ashok Pahwa, K.R.Wadhwani, Joginder Singh Sangar and Raj Loomba. 

International Punjabi Chamber for Service Industry (IPCSI) represents a cross section of NRI professionals, experts, entrepreneurs, visionaries, businessmen, scholars, educationists, writers, authors, besides trade commercial, educational and cultural organizations in countries where they are settled and the domestic corporate to serve as conduit between them for promoting the Service Industry and the overall cross-cultural relations.
