VEER-ZAARA now casts its magical spell on Germany. After its successful screening in the
55th Berlinale Film Festival, Veer-Zaara was subsequently released in theaters for the mainstream German market to a house full audience, and was also praised by the German press.
Recently, the Collectors Double DVD of Veer-Zaara and the Music of Veer-Zaara was released in the mainstream German market. The DVD of VEER-ZAARA has been really appreciated by cinema lovers there and has entered the official German DVD charts at Number 5. Loved by music connoisseurs in Germany, the soundtrack of VEER-ZAARA also entered the official German Music charts at Number 67. This is one of the first Hindi soundtracks to break in top 100 in Germany, for the mainstream listeners who do not know Hindi.
Directed by Yash Chopra, after a gap of 7 years, VEER-ZAARA was one of the most-awaited Hindi films of the year, as per popular opinion polls, and it instantly broke box-office records for the year, worldwide. The classic music of VEER-ZAARA brought together three of Indian Cinema’s biggest legends - the late MADAN MOHAN, LATA MANGESHKAR & YASH CHOPRA together for the first time and gave music lovers a much-awaited bouquet of timeless melodies. With lyrics by Javed Akhtar, the original compositions by the late Madan Mohan were used in Yash Chopra’s Veer-Zaara, thirty years after he passed away. This classic music was recreated by his son Sanjeev Kohli and the soundtrack of VEER-ZAARA was the top selling Indian music album of the year.
