Yash Raj Films was chosen for the
Golden Peacock National Quality Award for outstanding achievement in pursuit of
Total Quality Management in the Entertainment Sector (Film/TV) for the year 2002. This was the first year that the Entertainment Sector was included as a category for this Award and Yash Raj Films was privileged to be its first recipient.
Mr. Yash Chopra collected the Award on behalf of Yash Raj Films.
The presentation ceremony of the 13th World Congress on Total Quality was held at the Grand Maratha Sheraton Hotel, Mumbai on 14-16 February 2003 and was attended by a host of Indian & multinational corporates. Winners in other categories included Quality leaders like Pepsico, Reliance & Ford.
The Golden Peacock Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance has been instituted to improve the degree of accountability, transparency, integrity and responsibility in corporate governance. Its main objective is to make quality the epicenter of increasing revenue growth and competitive leadership. This Award is given to companies/organisations adjudged to have made the most significant advances in the field of Total Quality, Innovation Management, Innovative Product and Services and Business Leadership.
