The British Film Institute has handpicked Yash Chopra for a book written by Dr. Rachel Dwyer in their ‘World Directors Series’. This book was launched amidst great fanfare in London on 29th April 2002 and showcases the glorious 5-decade career of Yash Chopra.
Mr. Amitabh Bachchan launched the book in a glittering function at the Washington Hotel in London and the best of society witnessed the event among whom were the Hinduja brothers, Gurinder Chadha, members of the British High Commission and people from all walks of society including members of BFC (British Film Commission) and BTA (British Tourist Authority), including the Chairman of BTA, Mr.David Quarmby. The function was hosted by M/s SaReGaMa in which BTA felicitated Yash Chopra with a special trophy as a token of gratitude for promoting British tourism through his films like Lamhe, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Mohabbatein and now Mujhse Dosti Karoge.
