Waqt

Release Date: 28 July 1965

This is the story of a struggle between a man and his destiny… the outcome of which only 'time' would tell.

Lala Kedarnath (Balraj Sahni) is a wealthy and respected trader, a self-made man who prides himself on being the architect of his own destiny. His arrogance tempts fate and a terrible earthquake destroys the foundations of his world.

The twists and turns of fate continue to shape the lives of Lalaji and his family. His eldest son Raja (Raaj Kumar) runs away from exploitation at an orphanage, only to end up as a burglar. The second son Ravi (Sunil Dutt) is adopted and becomes the scion of a wealthy family. The youngest son Vijay (Shashi Kapoor) ends up working as a driver to fend for himself and his ailing mother, while Kedarnath himself is incarcerated on a murder charge…

TIME moves on, bringing the family together, not as flesh & blood but as strangers, overlapping their lives and loves.

Will time come around a full circle for this family?
Will Lala Kedarnath be finally humbled by fate?
Will time having proven its supremacy over man, move on yet again?
