Aadar Jain personifies the chutzpah and spirit of today’s youth. Young, focused and easy going, he is determined to make his mark as an actor with hard work and a balanced attitude. Grandson of Indian cinema’s showman Raj Kapoor, Aadar wears his legacy with quiet pride but hopes to build on his acting skills on sheer merit.
A Mumbai boy schooled here in the city, Aadar grew up on a diet of popular Hindi cinema and Hollywood classics. He always found watching his grandpa onscreen fascinating, almost believing in the make believe as real. Such is the pull and passion for cinema for him that he decided to give both screenwriting and learning direction a serious shot. Having graduated in both courses from the New York Film Academy, Aadar also pursued a course in acting at the globally respected Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.
Not one to rest on theoretical learning, Aadar moved to Mumbai and assisted leading directors of major film projects. He worked as an AD to Farah Khan on HAPPY NEW YEAR, and also assisted Karan Johar on AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL. Having cut his teeth in Bollywood hands on, Aadar got his lucky break when Shanoo Sharma, casting director at Yash Raj Films, spotted him. He auditioned for a film by Habib Faisal, the director of hits like ISHAQZAADE and DO DOONI CHAAR.
His winsome persona and confidence while facing the camera landed him a debut in the next Habib Faisal film opposite debutante Anya Singh. This film literate and eager to learn actor continues to consume cinema and quality international TV series with passion in his free time, confident of making cinema and acting the mainstay of his life for years to come.
